The one day Freestyle Workshop is a fabulous way to explore your inner creative, even if you don’t believe you have any ability! You will have the chance to learn a variety of techniques, creating your very own designs on pure silk. The workshops accommodate four people, which makes the experience very special and you will enjoy Bev’s focused attention, to help and guide you through the course.

You will spend the day in Bébanne’s wonderfully stimulating, working studio. In the morning, you will learn the process of applying colour dyes to the silk, by creating a sampler and then move on to designing your own handkerchief. There will be a break for lunch, when you could either visit the lovely onsite café, or bring your own packed lunch and enjoy eating it, in the seating area, beside the canal. The afternoon session is dedicated to creating a full-sized silk scarf, this is when you can really let your creativity flow and see your design idea evolve, into your very own unique piece of art.

  • A visit to this fabulous art studio is a must but allow plenty of time. Bev is a talented and inspirational artist. She creates the most sumptuous silk scarves. I made a return visit to spend the day with her and a small group of ladies creating my own piece of silk painting. Although I cannot draw or paint, with Bevs encouragement I created a scarf and handkerchief that I am proud of. Will definitely return for a further day of indulgence.
The tea and music is pretty darned good too…

  • Not only are the workshops with Beverly an amazing opportunity to be creative you also get the chance to wear your creation afterwards, knowing that no one in the world will have the same piece as you. Amazing day and it is a privilege to have Beverly in the art community.

Silk Artist

Bébanne Silk Art was created by Bev Bernhard-Bridges, fulfilling a lifelong ambition, to pursue her own artistic dreams.

Bev has a deep passion for art, creativity and colour. She creates the most exquisite designs on pure silk, at her Studio, located in the artisan setting on the canal side at the Red House Glass Cone site in Stourbridge, West Midlands. Bev’s inspirations come from the natural world and its abundance of shapes, colours and hues. Her aspirations are to assist others, to enjoy new adventures in art, to share colour and creativity and to inspire their journey.

Bev’s own artistic style is amazingly detailed and she will often spend a great deal of time, working on specific sections of an individual project. She has created a wonderful range of scarves in silk, to showcase distinctive styles and continues to explore these techniques through her workshops. Bev is a skilled Artist and highly qualified Art Teacher, with twenty years experience and knowledge, from teaching in Secondary Education. She was Head of Art, leading and managing an Art Department, to become one of the consistently top achieving subjects in the school and has a wealth of experience teaching 2D and 3D, in a wide range of media. Bev has also worked as a freelance photographer, creating imagery for magazines and private commissions, ranging from motorbikes to animals.
